Interestingly, I believe this cranberry glass piece may have originally been made as a glass lampshade or chimney and was later incorporated into the lamp. I have not been able to confirm its original purpose, but its form and decoration certainly make it an intriguing possibility.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003eBelow the cranberry glass is a beautifully molded clear glass section resting on a substantial square white marble base.
