This one-of-a-kind lamp was designed and built here in our Halifax, Virginia workshop, combining a vintage ginger jar with a mix of new and salvaged lamp parts.
The vintage blue and white ginger jar was sourced from a local antiques dealer and features the traditional Chinese “Double Happiness” symbol. Often associated with joy, love, marriage, and good fortune, the bold character makes a beautiful focal point against the delicate blue floral decoration.
To transform the jar into a lamp, we paired it with a new clear acrylic base, new socket, and new wiring. The brass components were salvaged from vintage lamps and chandeliers, giving the finished piece a wonderful mix of old and new.
The result is a completely unique table lamp with classic Chinoiserie style and a bit of Difficult Creek personality. It works beautifully with traditional interiors but is equally striking in an eclectic, maximalist, or Grandmillennial room.
