Description

Meet Willard, quite possibly the only lamp in the room that started life catching flies.

Before becoming a lamp, Willard was a glass hanging fly trap. Originally, the vessel would have had a glass lid where the socket is now installed, with liquid fly bait placed inside. The trap was hung up, and flies entered through the opening in the bottom.

Conveniently, that same opening now provides the perfect route for Willard’s electrical cord.

His beginnings may not have been particularly glamorous, but this unusual piece of utilitarian glass has been given an entirely new life as a one-of-a-kind table lamp. The clear glass body keeps the design light and airy, while the history behind it makes Willard a fantastic conversation piece.

Because the glass is clear and visually neutral, Willard is also incredibly versatile. Pair him with a colorful patterned shade for something playful and eclectic, or keep things simple with a solid shade and let the unusual glass base take center stage.
