These custom drum lampshades are handmade to order in our Difficult Creek Lighting workshop in Scottsburg, Virginia. You choose the fabric and diameter, and we make a shade specifically for your lamp.
Our fabric collection is anything but ordinary. Depending on current availability, you’ll find bold florals, colorful geometrics, batiks, whimsical prints, rich jewel tones, metallics and designer fabrics from names such as Kaffe Fassett, Lewis & Irene and Williamsburg.
Whether you're trying to wake up a vintage lamp, add color to a quiet corner, or finish a lamp that has been sitting shadeless for far too long, this is an easy way to create a look that feels distinctly yours.

Because drum shades have straight sides and the same diameter at the top and bottom, they have a clean, versatile silhouette that works beautifully with everything from vintage and antique lamps to Mid Century Modern, eclectic and contemporary lighting.
CHOOSE YOUR FABRIC
Select from the fabrics currently available in the listing. I keep an ever-changing collection of fabrics in the workshop, so options will change as fabrics sell out and new ones arrive.
Please keep in mind that pattern placement will vary from shade to shade. With large-scale florals and other bold prints, this means every shade is a little different.
HANDMADE TO ORDER
Your shade isn't pulled from a warehouse shelf. Once you place your order, I make it for you in my Virginia workshop.
Each fabric is carefully applied to professional lampshade backing and finished by hand to create a crisp, polished shade designed for everyday use.
Because these shades are made to order, please allow approximately 1–2 weeks before shipping.

Lampshade proportions can make an enormous difference in how a lamp looks. If you're unsure which diameter will work best, send me a photo of your lamp along with its measurements. I'm happy to help you choose.
