This is a tall lamp measuring in at 39.25”! The base measures 6.75” in diameter.
Champlevé is a European enameling technique which creates a look similar to Cloisonné. Usually, the enamel was applied to bronze, and this lamp is almost certainly bronze. This piece is likely from the late 19th century when the technique experienced a resurgence.
The detailing on this beauty is in fabulous condition. The base however, seems like it would be better with something else sitting below the lamp. There is a tiny cut out for the cord to protrude comfortably from underneath and it requires some thought to get it just right so the lamp is not wobbling on top of the cord.
The colors in the lamp are a dark red, cream, blues, greens and black. The metal of the lamp is a bronze color.
The lamp has not been rewired by us. If you’d like it rewired or a more substantial base added, please reach out to request these services.
