Vintage French Blue Opaline Glass Table Lamp | Restored Blue & White Glass Lamp with Gold Accents | Rewired | 24" Tall

This elegant vintage French blue opaline glass table lamp came to us with an especially interesting history.

We purchased the lamp from the nephew of a couple who lived in France for many years and acquired a large collection of lamps during their time there. Based on that provenance, along with the materials and styling of the lamp, we believe it is of French origin, although we have not found a maker's mark that definitively identifies its manufacturer.

The beautiful opaline glass has a soft French blue color accented with delicate white and gold detailing. Some of the original gold decoration has worn away over the years, something we feel adds to the character and authenticity of this vintage piece.

When the lamp arrived at our shop, its original wood base had suffered moisture damage. Rather than replace it, we carefully restored and refinished the original base to closely resemble its previous appearance and preserve as much of the lamp as possible.

The lamp was also completely rewired and fitted with a new, high-quality brass socket with a brass turn switch, giving this older beauty updated electrical components for its next home.

At 24 inches tall, the lamp has wonderful proportions for a living room end table, bedroom, study, entryway or reading nook. The combination of French blue, creamy white and aged gold makes it especially beautiful in traditional, Grandmillennial, French-inspired and eclectic interiors.

This lamp works beautifully with several of our handmade lampshades, including our Large Empire Shade, 14" Drum Shade and Tall Tapered Drum Shade. A taller harp is recommended when using the Large Empire shade.
