This lamp was Made in Japan and appears to have been made to be a lamp, as opposed to a vase turned into a lamp.
While it has certainly seen better days, I have a thing for brown and the metallic cherry blossom design is just fabulous. There are several spots where the finish has been scratched and the color is gone. This is wear consistent with it's age, and I like to think it tells a story of a previous life!
The lamp sits on a round wood base. It has new wiring, though the old sockets and covers were salvaged as they were in good condition.

A 14" drum shade fits with one shade riser (one shade riser is included). Our large empire shade is also a good fit. Both of the pictured empire shades required multiple shade risers to lift them high enough to show off the lamp (while keeping them low enough to cover the light bulbs).
