This vintage Made in Japan ceramic table lamp has plenty of age and wear, but the beautiful metallic floral decoration made it one worth saving.
The tall ceramic body is a rich, deep brown decorated with hand-painted flowering branches in metallic gold with soft peach accents. The design has a distinctly Asian influence, reminiscent of traditional Japanese cherry blossom and flowering tree motifs. The lamp sits on its original-style round carved wood base.
This lamp appears to have been manufactured as a lamp, rather than being a vase that was later converted.
And while she has certainly seen better days, that's part of what I love about vintage lighting. There are several areas where the dark brown finish has been scratched or worn away. Rather than hiding those imperfections, I've left them as part of the lamp's history. Please look closely at the photographs for condition.
The lamp has been rewired with new wiring, while the older sockets and socket covers were retained because they remain in good condition.
One particularly useful feature is the dual-socket design. Each socket has its own pull chain, allowing you to illuminate one bulb or both depending on how much light you want.

Choosing a Lampshade
A 14" drum shade works beautifully with this lamp and requires only one shade riser. One shade riser is included with the lamp.
Our Large Empire shade is also a great fit. Please note that the Empire shades shown in the photographs required multiple shade risers to position them high enough to show off the ceramic body while still keeping the bulbs properly concealed.
LAMPSHADES SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS ARE NOT INCLUDED.
Our handmade lampshades are sold separately, and we're happy to make a custom shade specifically for this lamp if you'd like to create your own pairing.
