Striking pair of ceramic table lamps finished in a deep red-to-burgundy drip glaze. The rich, glossy glaze varies from brighter ruby and wine-red tones near the shoulders to very dark burgundy toward the lower portions, giving the lamps wonderful depth and variation.

The coloring is reminiscent of traditional oxblood glaze, although I do not believe these are true oxblood-glazed pieces, so I have described them as red drip glaze rather than attributing a specific ceramic technique.

The ceramic bodies have a classic rounded vase or ginger-jar-inspired silhouette and sit on coordinating dark wood bases. Brass-tone hardware completes the look.

These appear to be relatively modern lamps rather than vintage examples. The cords are modern and are likely original to the lamps. Each lamp has a three-way socket, allowing multiple light levels when used with the appropriate three-way bulb.

Please note that these lamps do have some condition issues. One lamp has a small flaw in the glaze on the front. The second lamp has a larger chip along the bottom of the ceramic body where it meets the wooden base. This chip is located on the back and is largely concealed by the wood base when the lamp is displayed. Please review photos carefully for condition.

Despite these flaws, the pair displays beautifully. The saturated red glaze makes them particularly striking for a traditional, Asian-inspired, Hollywood Regency, eclectic or maximalist room.
