Beautiful vintage John Richard Lighting table lamp, made in the USA and dating to February 9, 1998. Even better, the lamp retains its original John Richard hangtag documenting its age and manufacture.
The tag identifies the lamp as John Richard Lighting, is stamped “Built by #6” and numbered 5393, and states “Made in the United States of America.” The tag also describes John Richard lamps as hand finished, noting that slight variations are part of the uniqueness of each piece.
The substantial porcelain body features a wonderful Chinoiserie-inspired design with birds among flowering branches and lush green foliage against a warm yellow-cream background. Decorative green botanical borders encircle the upper and lower portions of the porcelain, while ornate antiqued gold-tone metalwork finishes the base and neck.
John Richard was founded in Greenwood, Mississippi and is known for its high-end decorative lighting, furniture and home furnishings. This nearly 30-year-old lamp is a particularly lovely example of the richly detailed, traditional designs associated with the company.
The lamp remains in excellent vintage condition and retains its original cord.
