A beautifully understated vintage table lamp with the classic shape and presence of a ginger jar, finished in a versatile warm off-white.
Although designed to resemble a traditional ginger jar, this piece was made as a lamp rather than converted from an actual jar. The ceramic body features a raised floral and botanical design that adds texture while keeping the overall look wonderfully neutral.
The lamp likely dates to the 1960s or possibly earlier, based on its construction and what appears to be the original electrical cord. Its creamy ivory coloring makes it especially easy to work into traditional, Hollywood Regency, Asian-inspired, eclectic, or more contemporary interiors.
This would be gorgeous with a colorful patterned shade for contrast, or keep things quiet and elegant with a neutral linen shade.
Measurements:
• 26.75" tall to the top of the finial
• Approximately 8" diameter
Condition:
The lamp is in excellent vintage condition overall. There is a very slight gouge or possible hairline crack on the back of the lamp just above where the cord exits. It does not appear to affect the structural integrity of the lamp, but it is noted for accuracy.
The lamp retains its older wiring and is currently being sold with that wiring intact. Rewiring is available for an additional fee. Please contact us before purchasing if you would like the lamp rewired.
PLEASE NOTE: Lampshade is not included. Our handmade lampshades are sold separately, and we're happy to help you select or custom make a shade for this lamp.
As with all vintage lighting, minor signs of age and previous use should be expected and are part of its history.
